A guided fishing experience like no other
Loch Ness isn't just famous for its legendary monster — it's also home to some seriously exciting fishing. Spend the day trolling its mysterious depths in search of powerful Atlantic Salmon & Ferrox Trout while taking in some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery.
Based in Inverness, Loch Ness Fishing Trips provide guided fishing adventures in and around the stunning capital of the Highlands.
Trolling, Fly fishing or Spinning - Lochs, Streams or Rivers, we can arrange your perfect days fishing!
Fishing on Loch Ness is usually done by way of Trolling Lures for the mighty Atlantic Salmon (though we usually catch a few Brown Trout whilst we're waiting for a Salmon to take our lure!) This is a great way to cover lots of water & see plenty of great scenery at the same time.... We can travel 20 miles or more during the course of a full days Trolling!
We can Troll or Fly Fish for Brown Trout & can combine the two methods during the course of your day.
We also occasionally catch the large, predatory Ferrox Trout while trolling for Salmon but we can specifically target these awesome Fish by moving into deeper water and using a downrigger to get our baits/lures down to the correct depth. Ferrox trout are quite rare so a great deal of patience is required when fishing for them!
Experience the wild beauty of Loch Ness like never before — rod in hand, mist on the water, and adventure in the air. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just keen to escape into nature for the day, our guided fishing trips take the hassle out of planning. We provide everything you need for a memorable day on the loch — you just bring yourself, some warm layers, and maybe a little hope for a Nessie sighting.
If you fancy a spot of fly fishing, we can take up to two guests per trip with one person casting at a time from the boat. Fly fishing for Brown and Sea Trout on Loch Ness is usually done by the traditional style of ‘drifting’. This involves the ghillie using the oars to keep the boat drifting broadside with the wind while the guest casts and retrieves a team of wet flies.
Another productive method is 'crosscasting' which involves casting the fly towards the shore & covering rocks & overhanging bushes for Trout while still trolling for Salmon.
This method is great when two Guests are onboard as one can fly fish & the other can troll.
Fly fishing on Loch Ness is generally better when there is a decent breeze.
If the Loch isn't for you, there is also the option to visit some remote streams/small rivers to fly-fish for Small, Wild Brown Trout or larger rivers for Atlantic Salmon in stunning locations. This can be a secondary option for when Loch Ness is too rough, or can be the main trip if desired.
